Goldwave is an excellent audio editor (like Audacity) I've been using since it was in its infancy as a beta version, and it is still my favorite. there are lots of How-to's and FAQs out there (specific to your soundcard, Audacity and your midi application.) If this is a project that you really want to get serious about, there is an excellent midi program called TiMidity+ that has all sorts of bells and whistles (and virtually NO DOCUMENTATION!!) I have been experimenting with this stuff on and off for the past five or six years. sampled noted by note! I even have a set of Early Instruments "patches" (lutes, recorders, harps, frame drums, etc.) that sound incredibly good. or SoundFonts, which are actual audio recordings of real instruments. You can take it to the next level of sophistication by downloading higher quality General Midi Instruments. When the midi file is done playing, switch back and stop the recording function, and it should render and display the new. wav app, then switch over to the midi player and start the file playing. These days, it can be called something like "Nameofyoursoundcard digital audio" and will be listed as a "device" (like a microphone or webcam), usually in the recording volume settings of your.
